Mercy Because of Covenant
At the end of a recent class, the instructor (Ap. Barbara Wentroble) had a us spend a period of time praying and decreeing. Something I believe Holy Spirit showed me during that time was that the children of Israel didn’t really deserve for God to free them from Egyptian bondage. What I felt like He said to me was that the children of Israel were not righteous. God did not deliver them because of their righteousness. He delivered them because they were His covenant people and they were crying out to Him because of the oppression. At the time I heard that, I was thinking about the covenants that were made with God at the founding of this country. I was thinking about the one made at Cape Henry in 1607. And then the first thing George Washington did when he was sworn in as the first president was to pray and dedicate this nation to God.
